Money Saving Hacks for the Home and family

Following the recent Spring budget, there have been some changes that could help families who are struggling with the cost of living. These money saving tips, start with the cost of energy and how families can find help to heat their homes and reduce their energy bills.

Going back to work after having a baby can be tricky, especially if you don`t have a family member who can help you with childcare. The Chancellor has extended the Government’s childcare scheme so that parents with one and two year olds can also benefit. Find out here when the schemecomes into force. It’s also worth considering a job/childcare share, where you share childcare with a friend.

Switching suppliers can also make significant savings for households. The freeze on moving energy suppliers has now been lifted so that you can make your own choice of teh supplier best suited to you. For a comprehensive look at what is available, this link could help you.

According to the Office for National Statistics, the cost of feeding families has increased by an average of 18.4% this year. However, there are a number of initiatives to help those who are really struggling. The Trussell Trust is a good source of information, including how to apply for help and places where you can find extra support. You can also donate food to the Trust if you are fortunate enough to have excess funds!
