On Wednesday, June 19, the BOSS Business Supplies Charity hosted its annual Charity Day at the stunning Carden Park Resort. The event was a resounding success, raising £13,000 to provide financial assistance to those in need within our industry.
The day saw more than 135 attendees enjoying the sunshine, culminating in a delightful buffet dinner, along with the charity’s renowned auction, raffle, and golf prize ceremony.
The individual golf competition saw Tim Beaumont come in as runner up but was won by Shane Owen, Hamelin Brands, who received the Tim Holmes Trophy, presented by two of Tim’s sons. The team competition was clinched by Pukka Pads, consisting of Alex Bonarius, Jess Stott, Chris Stott and Alex Winstanley, closely followed up by Avery UK’s team of Matt Hopkins, Nico Jean-Jean, Gary Fowmes and Geoff Lewin. Beat the Pro was won by Gary Clark, Longest Drive by Tim Capper, Nearest the Pin by Gray Richmond and the Wooden Spoon by Darryl Brunt. All seemed very pleased with their achievements.
Philip Wesolowski led a heartfelt remembrance for those no longer with us, including Tim Holmes, Steve Bilton, Ken Trenberth, Ed Barnshaw and others, ensuring they were honoured throughout the day.
BOSS Charity Chair Kelly Hilleard remarked, “We had another incredible Charity Day. The weather was perfect, allowing golfers to enjoy a beautiful course, spa attendees to bask in the sunshine, and outdoor activity participants to explore the grounds on Segways.
“The charity is immensely grateful for the overwhelming support from across our industry, with many companies contributing attendees, raffle and auction prizes, and substantial sponsorship. Thanks to their generosity and the expertise of auctioneer Jason Stephen, we raised a significant amount that will enable us to assist even more families.”
The BOSS Charity is excited to announce that next year’s Charity Day will be once again at Carden Park in Cheshire. Please keep an eye out for the date in our upcoming announcement.
