Dealer group, Advantia Business Solutions, donated a fantastic £450 for the BBSC recently. We asked commercial manager Clare ffolkes how they raised the money and why.
What was the occasion and how did you get people to give so generously?
The pandemic got in the way of our normal networking activities, and it had been a while since we’d all been together, so we decided to have a party to reconnect and celebrate our 35th birthday. Nearly 100 Advantia members and suppliers attended our Casino themed night sponsored by Exertis. We held a raffle and received lots of fabulous prizes including a coffee machine donated by Nestle, shopping vouchers from Exacompta and a Caran d’Ache pen from Stone Marketing amongst many other great items.
What inspired you to support us?
We’ve been around for a long time and many of our members have been with us since the beginning. We thought it was a good opportunity to give something back to the industry that’s given us all so much over the years.
It’s nice to know that should any of us find themselves in financial difficulty we have the BBSC there as back up.
What advice would you give to other members of the workplace products community on how to support BBSC?
It doesn’t have to be difficult. Perhaps there’s a day in your business’ calendar that needs celebrating, and why not use it as an opportunity to do some fundraising for the BBSC. And don’t forget that fundraising activities also help to raise awareness so that more people know that the charity is there for them. You never know when you or a colleague might need their help.
