The BOSS Charity’s Future Fund was set up in 2019 in partnership with the BOSS Federation to assist people in the industry who want to progress their careers through training, but are unable to find funding for this from their own resources – or from their employer. Future Fund grants of up to £750 allows them to take the next step in their careers, or even take a completely different path.
Since the programme started, the charity has issued grants to cover a variety of needs, from retraining for a new career to sales and marketing training. It’s very simple to apply and the decision-making process is very quick, so you can start planning your training as soon as possible.
Ulumma Onyirioha has used her funding to attend a Career Transition Programme. She said: “Being awarded a Future Fund grant from the BOSS Charity has not only been rewarding in helping me engage in continuous professional development, but has also shown that it is possible for anyone willing to pursue their career aspirations to achieve their goals. The application process was straightforward and the support I received was immeasurable.”
Chelsea Tame from Staedtler, has also received support from the Future Fund and thinks its advantages are not just for the individual, but also for employers: “The BOSS Charity Future Fund grant has helped me to attain my Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing through the Chartered Institute of Marketing. I was able to start my course within a month of applying for the grant and I have been able to drive not only my own professional development by gaining a qualification from a globally recognised marketing body, but my company really benefits from my new knowledge, too. I now feel better equipped for my role within the business, as well as in the wider industry.”
